Health Certification Relational Database
Spring 2020: Kenilworth 38
I created this relational database as a workaround for a major shortcoming in our district PowerSchool Covid-19 health certification system.
PowerSchool only reports students who have completed health certifications. We needed a list of students who did not complete the health certification before school.
I created a relational database that assigns a value of 1 to all student ids pulled from the PowerSchool self-certification list. Then, a linked roster with all student ids pulls over those values. All student ids without a value of 1 show up as “NA”. Those are our students without a health certification.

I built this site in collaboration with Dr. Carrie DelaCruz, the Director of Student Services at Joseph Sears School.
The purpose of this site is to guide the implementation of a new distance learning program aimed at helping students stay on task and make connections with staff for social-emotional needs.

Fall 2018: Zion ESD 6
During the 2018-2019 school year, five of six Zion ESD 6 schools moved into the “Commendable” category. Literacy proficiency grew 4% district-wide and numeracy proficiency grew 8% district-wide.
SIS data can provide valuable insights into student achievement. The attendance rates for English Learners and students with IEPs presented an opportunity to leverage rich support resources to improve attendance.
