Innovative Technology Scope and Sequence

I developed this scope and sequence in 2019-2020 for the Innovative Technology special at Joseph Sears School. Innovative Technology is a class that meets once a week for 40 minutes throughout the school year. To build this scope and sequence, I leveraged an existing rough course outline that was piloted the year before. Then, I fleshed out a scope and sequence based on ISTE student standards and published course sequences from nearby districts. The resulting document is representative of local expectations while staying unique to the resources at Joseph Sears.

The first page of the document shows learner dispositions that reflect Sears culture.
This course description reflects the depth of study for the course as the first part of a three-year rotation.
Learning targets are easily transferable to individual lessons using an Understanding by Design framework.

I am a passionate educator who believes that technology can transform classrooms into places where education is more targeted, personal, and engaging. I am a mother of spoiled identical twin girls, and I love to spend time playing with them. We visit zoos, museums, and theme parks almost every weekend during the summer. It's a great time.
