New Teacher Academy:Data PD

In fall 2017,  Teaching and Learning started providing professional development for new teachers on a monthly basis. As the Instructional Technology Facilitator, I designed and delivered professional development on the digital curriculum tools available in the district.

In fall 2018, New Teacher Academy, as we called it, began to happen on a biweekly basis. I led New Teacher Academies focused on grading practices and data and assessment. The Slides pictured below are from the first assessment data professional development; it is part of a series of pds I called “How to be a Data Whisperer”. Teachers were given time to build student goal sheets or differentiation plans using NWEA assessment tools. The goal sheet and differentiation planning sheet from the professional development were shared with building leadership during the deep dives, as well.

I am a passionate educator who believes that technology can transform classrooms into places where education is more targeted, personal, and engaging. I am a mother of spoiled identical twin girls, and I love to spend time playing with them. We visit zoos, museums, and theme parks almost every weekend during the summer. It's a great time.
