Strategic planning and professional goal setting is the cornerstone of district, school, and personal improvement. Prior to the 2018-2019 school year, I developed a 30-60-90 day plan that laid out my professional goals in my new role as the Data and Assessment Facilitator.
To develop my goals, I evaluated existing district practices and identified high-impact practices that could move the district towards implementing its strategic plan.
When 30-60-90 plan was completed, I shared it with my superiors, received feedback, and set my plan in motion.
I kept my 30-60-90 plan near my desk, and I was able to meet my goals. Our district website now has information on tests, as well as school testing calendars. In the fall, all schools distributed standardized test scores and parent information at parent-teacher conferences. Most importantly, every school in the district completed their NWEA Growth Assessments within the two-week window dictated by best practices. This has never happened in the district, and, as a consequence, MAP data has not been accurate or equitable. All that changed as a result of my work.
